Fanm Yo La: Women Transforming Haiti

At UNIR-Haïti, Fanm Yo La (women matter too) is a platform that amplifies and strengthens the leadership of Haitian women, reaffirming their transformative role in society. This initiative dignifies their rightful place in building a better future for Haiti, boldly declaring: “We, the Women, Are Here.” This name serves both as an affirmation of their active presence and a call for society to listen to and recognize the invaluable contributions of women throughout the country.

Join us in making this goal a reality.

Your contribution opens doors, strengthens communities, and fuels a future built by young Haitian women.

Your support for the Fanm Yo Scholarship and the Sonia Pierre School is more than a gesture — it is a political act of solidarity.

Thanks to your commitment, seven women have already received the Fanm Yo Scholarship, pursuing their studies in a context where access to education is still a privilege.

These scholarships have provided the tools they need to succeed: laptops, research funds, writing retreats with 24-hour electricity and Internet, and access to academic books.

Each resource represents dignity, persistence, and the real possibility of staying in school.

Now, we want to go further.

In 2026, our goal is to fund three additional scholarships and reach a total of 10 women supported.

Because every scholarship creates ripples of change:
10 women studying.
10 stories transformed.
10 dreams fulfilled.

Donate today and be part of this women-led movement!

With your support, six women will have the opportunity to complete their university studies by receiving the Fanm Yo La Scholarship that includes:

  • A monthly stipend to cover their basic needs.
  • Access to a residence equipped with electricity and reliable lighting, essential resources for studying in the challenging context of Haiti.
  • Academic mentorship to help them write and defend their undergraduate theses, empowering them to become professionals ready to lead change in their communities
